According to the recently published U.S. News & World Report rankings for graduate programs, the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering is ranked in 7th place. The Virginia Tech undergraduate program now ranks #8 in the nation.
Department Head, G. Don Taylor, attributes these rankings to the efforts, "of our world-class faculty, our dedicated staff, our first-rate Advisory Board, and a very supportive Dean of Engineering." He couldn't be prouder of the Department's joint achievements, and he looks forward to the future with great anticipation.
BLACKSBURG, Va., Aug. 6, 2014 –U.S. workplaces may need to consider innovative methods to prevent fatigue from developing in employees who are obese. Based on results from a new study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, workers who are obese may have significantly shorter endurance times when performing workplace tasks, compared with their non-obese counterparts.
