Scholarships
Scholarships Available for ISE Students
To be considered for one of the many scholarships given each year through the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), students must apply for the general scholarship through the College of Engineering. The College then forwards all applications from ISE students to the Department where they are reviewed, and scholarship decisions are made for ISE scholarships. The Department generally receives the applications from the Dean's Office in March or April and we generally review them and determine scholarship recipients in May.
Applications are evaluated on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities, honors/awards, and quality of scholarship essay. Students are notified directly by the Department regarding the scholarship award and amount.
The College of Engineering offers academic scholarships to incoming freshmen, transfers from Virginia Community Colleges, and upper-class undergraduate engineering students. Thus, an ISE student (rising sophomore, junior, or senior) may receive scholarship funds from both the College of Engineering and the ISE Department.
