Dr. Lockhart's research focuses on understanding motor control aspects of slip induced fall accidents among workers and older population utilizing theoretical biomechanical modeling, human factors and ergonomics, postural control, gait mechanics, and point-of-care devices to develop and implement intervention strategies to reduce fall accidents. Dr. Lockhart also focuses on visual motor control research to improve dynamic visual displays relevant to automobile design. Contractual research sponsors include: NIH, NSF, NIOSH (CDC), Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan), and Whitaker Foundation.
