ISE Named 'Exemplary Department' at Virginia Tech

ISE Named Exemplary Department at Virginia Tech

At a ceremony held on November 27th, the Provost and Vice Provost formally presented the Exemplary Department Award to G. Don Taylor, Department Head and the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Present were Dean Benson, Associate Department Head, Eileen Van Aken; Advisor, Joyce Vest; student ambassadors, and several alumni, faculty and staff.The University Exemplary Department Awards program recognizes the work of departments and/or programs that maintain exemplary teaching and learning environments for students and faculty. With this award, the university publicly honors the collaborative efforts and successes of a group of dedicated colleagues actively performing work that is essential for sustaining a truly excellent academic environment. The theme of this year's competition was "developing and sustaining innovative and effective departmental approaches to advising at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels".


Meredith Winall

ISE mourns the sudden loss of senior Meredith Winall. Meredith was an ISE Ambassador who had accepted a position with Disney. "She was an active and valued member of our department and she will be greatly missed." --Don Taylor
