New staff member to support Harris Manufacturing Processes Laboratory

William (Randall) Monk. Randall has ISE in the position of Instrument Maker in the Harris Manufacturing Processes Laboratory. Randall has more than 20 years of machining experience in a variety of settings. After graduating from Mount View High School in Welch, West Virginia in 1988, his first machining job was with the United States Army. While in the Army, he earned Machinist and Advanced Machinist Certifications from the US Army Machinist School in Aberdeen, MD before being deployed in Zirndorf, Germany. He returned to the area after successfully completing his military tour and worked for several local companies while continuing to pursue his education. He became a Certified Machinist at McDowell County Vocational Technical School and studied Smart Cam Programming and Total Quality Management I, II, and III at Wytheville Community College. He has also attended more advanced machinist training courses with Hurco, Mori Seiki, Toyoda, and Haas. Most recently, he was employed at O’Neal Steel in Roanoke.
